Rolleston Place park earns trash status

Is there another strike on? We are not asking for the impossible.

EDITOR – Could you assist us in the Woodlands area, especially in Rolleston Place, with details of whom we can contact to cut and trim the long grass in our park?

The grass has not been cut for more than three months and nobody in our circle can remember when last our street gutters were swept.

It’s disgusting, filthy and unkept.

Is there another strike on? We are not asking for the impossible. We pay good money for a service that doesn’t exist. I suggest that we ratepayers hire a private company to do the job on time and better, and then send the receipt to the council to be deducted from our account. I know this is wishful thinking. Just take a walk through Nagle Square and see how the taxis park and dump their rubbish and garbage. We have even seen soiled nappies out on the grass.

No wonder we are a third world, trash-status country. Nobody will take responsibility, but council staff are very quick to take their wages each month.

DAVE QUERIPEL

Editor’s note: This correspondence has been passed on to the ward councillor for the area, Gaven Hegter, who will be in touch shortly to discuss what can be done.
