Ambassador CROWs about calendar campaign

THE Under An African Sky 2017 calendar is now on sale, with proceeds going to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) and ambassador, Pierre Venter-Maher urges people to buy one now.

Pierre, who has been in the entertainment industry for more two decades, is also an inspirational speaker and team development specialist.

When asked to be an ambassador for the 2017 calendar campaign, he jumped at the opportunity.

“Animals don’t have a voice and need compassionate and dedicated people to help them,’’ said Pierre, who is the champion for those who can’t speak for themselves, including animals.

The voluntary organisation, Under an African Sky, was started eight years ago by Compass Medical Waste Services and has since raised R1.3-million through the calendar campaign, R915,000 of which has gone to CROW.

Pierre and his wife, Wendy wanted to leave a legacy and make a difference for generations to follow.

“This includes playing our role in the conservation of the Earth and all of its living assets. Animals and wildlife are a massive part of these assets. We teach our children not to destroy the world and to respect all living things that inhabit it. We also serve unofficially on many humanitarian organisations, quietly trying to make a difference.”

The 2017 ‘Reflections of Africa’ calendar is the newest iteration of this fundraising drive and is now on sale. The A2 version costs R180 and the CD size desk calendar costs R60. Orders can be placed by calling Dianne Reddy on 031-267-9700; emailing orders@underanafricansky.co.za or visiting www.underanafricansky.co.za
