Tom, Dave claim final breakfast shirts and skirts perch for 2016

Dates to remember on Thursday, 1 December is the casual four’s breakfast and next week Wednesday, 7 December is the any pairs competition with Turkeys up for grabs.

ON a lovely, cool Saturday afternoon there were two games played at Woodlands Bowling Club.

Final mixed drawn pairs between Harold Dix and Linda Hewer against Rina Harper and Bill Hewer and men’s nominated pairs between Tom and Andy Cloete against Norman Moore and David Lloyd.

Rina Harper and Bill won their game 16-11 and are the 2016 mixed drawn pairs champs. Coming from behind and winning their game were Norman Moore and David Lloyd on 24-16 to become the 2016 men’s nominated pairs champs.

On Sunday bright and sunny with a bit of wind was the breakfast shirts and skirts. There was a count out for first place between Tom Cloete and Dave Lloyd and Norman Moore and Gloria Rice, with Norman and Gloria sitting on the perch but they were knocked out by Tom and Dave on 4+11. The perch is now sitting at R800 for January. Second overall winners were Norman Moore and Gloria Rice on 4+11. Second session winners were Richard Hendicott and Chris Klopper on 2+13. Tom Cloete and Jeff Bolt snapped up R40 each and Pat McGlyn and Dixie snagged R20 each. Robin Groblaar won the meat raffle and drawn prize went to skip – Robin Groblaar and lead – Chantal Hearnshaw.

Dates to remember include Thursday, 1 December for the casual fours breakfast and next Wednesday, 7 December is the any pairs competition with turkeys up for grabs. The club will also be doing its Christmas hamper draw so make sure you get tickets.
