Revellers bring joy to seniors

There was singing in groups and solos, dancing in groups, a solo Spanish dancer and a Cape minstrel dancer, moving with amazing agility.

MONTCLAIR Senior Citizens Club met on a cool, wet morning which did not deter members from attending.

Rev George Beetar opened with devotions.

Thereafter Dave welcomed all and thanked everyone for the good wishes he had received over the past couple of months. Apologies were read from those who were unable to attend.

Dave reminded all that the sales table needs more articles to sell, and whether anyone had unwanted items at home to donate. He advised that there is a committee meeting on 3 November at 9am in the hall, if any member wishes to attend. Those with birthdays this month were wished for their special day.

Raffle prizes were then drawn and Isabel shared a joke before tea was served.

The TAFTA revellers were there to share their talents. What a variety of entertainment they shared. There was singing in groups and solos, dancing in groups, a solo Spanish dancer and a Cape minstrel dancer, moving with amazing agility. There were poems read and sing-alongs. The costumes were beautiful and apparently all hand-made by the talented women. What an enjoyable and memorable morning.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, 10 November.
