Model scouted for talent showcase

ASPIRING Bluff model, Bradelle van der Merwe dreams of international stardom as she prepares to grace the stage at the International Talent Showcase in Johannesburg between 18 and 20 October.

She was scouted for the showcase in Durban at the Summer Heat Model and Talent search by Elsubie de Lange of Just You Artist and Model Management, where she was also chosen to represent KZN at the Miss Summer Heat Model and Talent Search SA from 5 to 9 December at Tropical Nites Theatre at the Wild Coast Casino.

Bradelle will be performing in front of a large crowd, hoping to make a huge impression on both local and international scouts. The International Talent Showcase allows participants to take showcase their talents in either modelling, dancing, singing and acting, or participants can do all four. She hopes to be one of the finalists chosen to participate in the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) convention in Orlando, Florida next year. “Bradelle will be modelling and she is considering doing a dance routine as well,” said her mother, Lorelle.

Bradelle dreams of becoming an international model and earning a degree in either the medical or educational fields. She not only shines on stage but her school marks always lands her on the podium.

Previously, she has taken part in LeVogue’s Miss Coedemore competition, where she was crowned first princess. She took part in the Miss Highlands Gathering competition as well as a fashion show hosted by Mobile Model Mangagement in which she was awarded best dressed in her age group. She also participated in Le Vogue’s Cover Girl 2013 as she had to hand over her title of Le Vogue’s Model Search Winner 2012.

The young model still needs between R22,000 to R25,000 to attend both competitions. The cost cover registration for bootcamps, accommodation, transport, food, clothing and other essentials. If selected for the ARTS convention, all extra money raised will be used to cover costs or it will be donated to Mission Rhino. In her fundraising efforts, she has held a raffle and plans to hold cake and bunny chow sales. Her mother has been saving monthly and plans to use her annual bonus for the competitions. Along with other KZN finalists, they plan to hold a group fundraiser for Mission Rhino as they are ambassadors.

“We are hoping local businesses could come on-board to sponsor her in whatever way they can. Any form of assistance, big or small will be greatly appreciated.” Call Lorelle on 073-140-4654 if you would like to assist.
