Quins counts down to cricket league season

There are only two more spaces available for teams to enter, with teams from afar as Uvongo and Vryheid signing up for the tournament.

UMBILO Harlequins Cricket Club has entered six senior teams, one being a Saturday league team and one junior team in the respective leagues for the upcoming season which commences on Sunday, 25 September for some teams and the following weekend for most others.

Coaching sessions for U11 players commenced on 11 November and a practise session for seniors was also held. The senior session was well attended with a number of new members joining.

The next coaching session for U11s will be on Sunday, 18 September at 11am and for seniors at 2pm. The impending season terminates at the end of March. The club would welcome any new players aspiring to acquire membership.

The first East Coast 7’s tournament will be hosted at Durban Harlequins on 17 September from 10am.

This exciting and fast-paced version of the game has been thrilling spectators and fans for years and with each game lasting only 14 minutes, the exhilarating action is thick and fast and the Bluff community is in for a real treat.

To add to the spectacle, the Springboks/All Blacks match and Sharks versus EP Kings game will also be televised throughout the day, so go along and enjoy an awesome day’s entertainment. There will be good music, food and drinks available.
