Bluff BC’s level two umpire ranks swell

Janice Rodgers won the 50/50 board, and Jorge Santos will be eating well off the meat hamper.

THE monthly Bluff Bowling Club tournament, with the sponsorship of Dudley, June and Lashrite, was played on Thursday.

Janice Rodgers won the 50/50 board, and Jorge Santos will be eating well off the meat hamper.

Robbie Johnston and Noel Morel won the first session and Gary Moffat and Jorge Santos were winners of the second session. Overall winners were Spider Williams and Rob.

Noel Morel missed the attendance draw on Friday night, and this jackpot is once again climbing very well.

Mother Nature had a say in club competitions on Saturday and posted games that were washed out will be played this coming Saturday. However, two games were completed, women’s point singles saw Jay Retief getting the spoils over Ronel Morel. A game of mixed nominated pairs was also played and Elize Stapelberg and Rodger Scott beat Robert Mhlongo and Glynis Mackrory.

Chrissie Smith has received her badge and certificate for her level two umpire qualification. Congratulations and thank you for your selfless service to the game of bowls.

Sunday, 4 September will see the club host three sections of the Port Natal pairs, but this sadly means that the monthly Acutts any pairs will have to be cancelled.
