Car-loving crew spread faith through Wentworth

We want to help bring unity back into the communities

UNITY and peace is the goal for car crew Dub Lyf, who have made it their mission to spread their message throughout Wentworth.

The crew, which includes about 30 car-loving members, started last November.

Sharing their love for cars as well as the community, the men banded together to form a strong force which is growing in numbers as well as in faith as they move into areas including Wentworth, Sydenham, Seaview, and Merebank, tending to the needs of the less fortunate.

Member of Dub Lyf, Kirsten Paul said charity begins at home, “This is why we also assisted the family in Wolraad road whose home was petrol bombed recently. They lost everything and had no food and clothing. I urge others to donate any foodstuff or clothing as well and become part of the solution. The only way evil will prevail is when good people do nothing,” said Paul.

Besides helping the needy and giving children happiness as their convoy of cars enter neighbourhoods, the men strive to be rolemodels for children and young adults who don’t have one. “We are trying to set a trend with the youngsters, we want to teach them to have a motivation and work towards. We want them to learn from us that you can face your giants in life and excel. You are bigger than your problems and with the right guidance, you shall overcome it,” added Paul.

The crew recently visited St Monica’s Children’s Home on the Bluff, where they spent time with the children and blessed them with goods. “Our main goal is to bring brotherhood into the areas we visit. Especially when communities are plagued with social ills. We want them to know we are here and we want to help bring unity back into the communities,” said Paul.

Dub Lyf members thank Africa Swag and family and friends for their continuous support and belief in the group.
