Bluff in ever-growing state of decay

The neglect in the greater Bluff area neighbourhoods is scandalous to say the least.

EDITOR – I’ve been itching to say something about the maintenance of grass cutting and the maintenance of pavements for ages but having been forever hopeful that ‘next week’ the job will be done, I’ve postponed my writing for months now.

The neglect in the greater Bluff area neighbourhoods is scandalous to say the least. Marine Drive and Lighthouse Road, where the attached photos have been taken, are supposed to be the upmarket roads leading to sightseeing points overlooking the harbour, the Indian Ocean and the Bluff beaches. However, our rates and taxes are definitely finding their way somewhere else.

I’ve lived on the Bluff for close on 60 years now and this is the worst it’s ever been over all the years. No more flowers along certain sections of Lighthouse Road and so on.

Who wants to keep on living here if this is how the Bluff is just left to deteriorate, from bad to worse?

This needs to be brought to the attention of the municipality and the ward councillor.
