Bushlands WI buoyed by improved competition entries

Members were furnished with a list of competitions for July.

IT was noted with satisfaction that there were more competition entries at the Bushlands Women’s Institute (WI) meeting on 1 May, and Margaret Everett kindly gave members hints on the perfect muffin mix.

The meeting was opened by president N Brown with the singing of ‘Unity’ and gave a round robin from members.

Hazel Lochner once again handed in some beautiful crochet and knitwear which M Everett accepted for onward transmission to needy people – especially beneficial with onset of the winter weather.

The raffle prizes were won by Daphne and Marlene.

The results of the competition entries were as follows:

Homemaking:

  • First Y Munro 90,
  • second N Brown 88,
  • third D du Plessis 86,
  • fourth M Jones 85, A Croucamp 80.
