Eight hurt in two Sunday crashes

TWO accidents on Sunday, 17 May left eight people injured in South Durban.

A man was left in a critical condition following a crash on the M4 near the Quality Street offramp on Sunday, 17 May at about 5.30am.

A car allegedly broke down when a second car drove into it. Rescue Care paramedics treated three injured people, one who was critical and found lying in the road.

Advanced life support was needed to stabilise the man and once everyone was treated, they were taken to hospital by Rescue Care and EMRS.

In a second accident later that day, five people travelling in a taxi were injured when it crashed on Brighton Road on the Bluff at about 5pm.

Rescue Care paramedics found the taxi on the side of the road. Once all the injured had been treated, they were taken to hospital for further care.
