School gives back by painting Wentworth Hospital

The painting project started on Monday, 8 September with the school providing the paint and equipment for the ante-natal section’s new look.

WENTWORTH Hospital’s ante-natal section received a fresh coat of paint from a Durban high school on Wednesday, 10 September.

Westville Boys High School grade 10 pupils adopted Wentworth Hospital for their Life Orientation subject community service. Angel of Mercy Care Centre, which supports pregnant woman and new mothers at the hospital, co-ordinated the revamp of the ante-natal section. “It’s great that the boys chose Wentworth Hospital. This will liven up the hospital rooms. Wentworth Hospital does great work, the staff deserve to work in pleasant place and clients deserve to come to a hospital that looks good,” said Angel of Mercy Care Centre director, Pat Bayley.

The painting project started on Monday, 8 September with the school providing the paint and equipment for the ante-natal section’s new look. The hospital will use paint leftover from the project in other areas of the hospital where a coat of paint in needed.
Kyron Aldworth is one of the pupils who helped with the project. “It’s been good being able to give back to the community. I’ve enjoyed spending time with classmates even though it’s been hard work,” said Aldworth.

Wentworth Hospital is pleased Westville Boys High School chose the hospital for their community service. “This means a great deal. Thank you to the boys for taking the time to paint the ante-natal section. Patients will appreciate the difference. We also appreciate everything Angels of Mercy does for the hospital,” said Wentworth Hospital PRO, Carol Dlamini.
