Wentworth burglar behind bars

Wentworth police quickly arrest a housebreaker and recover R25,000 in stolen goods.

A QUICK arrest followed the theft of about R25,000 worth of valuables from a Wentworth home on Saturday, 26 July.

At least two men broke into a house in Horizon Road and made off with a 42-inch flat screen TV, home theatre system, computer and clothing.

Through informers, Wentworth SAP’s Warrant Officer Maharaj and Constable Mpili arrested a man who was found with some of the clothing. They also found the remaining stolen goods at a set of flats on Mahatma Gandhi Road near South Beach.

The man appeared in Wentworth Court and was sent to Westville Prison pending further investigation. The identity of the man’s accomplice is known to the police and they are hopeful an arrest will be made soon.
