A haunted house and trick-or-treating makes Halloween spooky in Montclair [Video]

Residents in Montclair, dressed in Halloween costumes, went trick-or-treating around the neighbourhood.

SOUTH Durban residents were treated to a dark and gloomy Halloween celebration as the heavy rains added to the spookiness of the night on Saturday.

Members of the Montclair Community Policing Forum and Montclair police were out and about, handing out sweet treats to residents, along with a convoy with many stops, including at a haunted house on Verity Avenue.

Montclair CPF chairperson, Jackie Goncalves (second from left), with Montclair police officers, Sergeant Malusi Ndlovu and Warrant Officer Patrick Khoza, were spooked by a resident.

Although the weather did not permit trick-or-treating around the community, it did not stop residents from dressing in eerie attire. Alison and Wessel Percival were thrilled to, once again, be able to spook passers-by and residents who visit their home during Halloween. They added a witch and a giant spider on a web to their decorations, this year.

Montclair CPF chairperson Jackie Goncalves thanked all role-players who made the celebration an eventful one.
