Montclair school gives back to welfare

The Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society is very grateful for the much-needed donation.

DOING their bit to help those in need, Montclair Junior Primary School donated food items to the Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare Society recently.

Sandra Govender, a social worker at the welfare said, “We would like to express our gratitude for the generous donation of food items after an appeal was made in the South Coast Sun. We are overwhelmed by the response from the school, which is not in our area. To all the learners, parents, and staff of the school, their assistance is noted and recorded with pride,” she said.

Govender said the welfare’s projects aim to support families and provide material assistance such as food items, clothing, and stationery, among other needs, to families who have been screened by the social worker.

“It has been tough times at welfare were unemployment, poverty and lack of funding has been the order of the day. However, it is with support we receive that help us make a difference in the lives of the people we serve,” she said.
