Wayne is the singles bowling champion, again!

Wayne Ritmuller delivers precise bowls and continues to dominate the singles champs.

THE BLUFF’s exceptional pro bowler, Wayne Ritmuller, was thrilled to have won the recent KZN Singles Bowling Tournament, for the third time.

Bagging many consecutive wins as the South African Men’s Singles Champion, Ritmuller, who started playing bowls when he was just 12-years-old, said he was happy to keep the title.

‘In the semi-final and finals, I was pushed very hard and had to really play well to make sure of the win in both games,” he said.

Ritmuller has many titles under his belt, with the recent third place at the thrilling SA Masters Singles Championship held in Cape Town from March 17 to 19.

Proud to have competed in the championship for the fifth time, Ritmuller continued to then focus his attention on the World Bowls Indoor Championships which he played in May, in Australia.

The champion bowler joined Wentworth Bowling Club, where both his parents were members, in 2001 when he was 19-years-old.

He thereafter played for the Hillary Bowling Club from 2008 to 2012. Highlights of his journey as a bowler include making his debut for South Africa at the 2017 African States Tournament, where he achieved three gold medals and was named player of the tournament.

He went on to bagging three national titles, as well as additional gold and silver medals for South Africa.
