Merebank teacher hijacked in school

The hijackers fled in her gold Mercedes-Benz.

A MEREBANK teacher was left injured after she was hijacked by a gang of armed suspects at a high school on Jammu Road on Thursday morning.
PT Alarms Tactical Units, PT Ambulance Service, Trauma 911, as well as other medical and security companies responded to the scene.
Dhevan Govindasamy, PT Alarms spokesperson, said the woman sustained injuries after she was accosted by suspects who then fled in her vehicle, a gold Mercedes-Benz.
“It is alleged that the teacher drove into the school property and was cornered by about four suspects with firearms. The suspects took possession of the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction.
“The teacher sustained injuries when she fell during her ordeal. A second teacher is believed to have also been injured. There were no shots fired,” he said
Govindasamy said Wentworth police were on scene, and PT Alarms Tactical units were on high alert for the hijackers.
