Thanks to donors, Crow tracks jackal after release

CROW says with this collar, the Crow team can monitor her activity, location, and progress and it enables us to collect valuable data for future research.

Do you remember Umlilo? She was the side-striped jackal pup who was rescued by the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) from a sugarcane fire in Zululand.

Crow was pleased to announce her rescue at two weeks of age and Umlilo spent one year in Crow’s care, hand-reared by clinic nurse, Leigh Geyer

The tracking collar allows the Crow team can monitor Umlilo’s activity, location, and progress.

Crow’s operations director, Clint Halkett-Siddall, said the organization thanks all the sponsors and donors who helped secure a satellite tracking collar, valued at R26 047.50 for Umlilo.
