Du Preez said the PEP project is managed by a core team, team leaders and a group of general workers in collaboration with eThekwini Business Support, South Durban Basin Area Based Management, local councillors and businesses and individuals.

“The aim is to create employment and assist eThekwini with their ‘Clean Your City’ initiative. At first we focused on tourism related sites, especially during preparations for our Welcoming of the Whales Festival 2022, however, we then started cleaning other sites. We have since clean 20 different sites and are hoping to extend the programme for another six months,” she said.
