Residents urged to avoid Garvies Beach due to sewage issues

Although the pipe is fixed, overflow sewage is temporarily flowing into the stretch of beach in front of the pipe.

WARD 66 councillor Zoe Solomon is urging residents to avoid Garvies Beach as overflow sewage is flowing into a stretch of the beach.

“A pipe repair had to be done urgently, and the pump house was temporarily switched off. Therefore, the overflow sewage is flowing into the stretch of beach in front of the pipe.

The repair has been completed.

“The repair is done, and the pump house will be on again today,” added Solomon.
