Ward 66 kicks off free shopping initiative for vulnerable residents

The needy in Ward 66 can 'shop' for donated second-hand items on January 21 in the old Boxing Club hall.

VULNERABLE children and adults looking for a helping hand can feel free to visit the first Ward 66 Sunshine and Unicorn Shopping Initiative for 2023. Hosted by the ward’s vulnerable groups’ sub-committee, the shopping experience allows vulnerable residents to shop for second-hand items at no cost. Ward 66 councillor Zoe Solomon said the initiative is exclusively for those who really need it.

“We are proud, as a community, to be able to bring this sort of comfort to residents and to give back to those who really need it. Parents will be required to accompany the children,” said Solomon.

The initiative will be held on Saturday, January 21, from 09:00 to 11:00, at the old Boxing Club hall on 87 Tara Rd, Wentworth, The Bluff.
