Police seek man to help solve rape case

The Brighton Beach FCS Unit is looking for the person as per the attached identikit who could assist in solving the rape case,

BRIGHTON Beach Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) appeal to members of the community for assistance in locating a man known as Kito.

He is aged between 30 to 35 from Cato Crest in Mayville and is believed he could help solve a rape case.

Provincial spokesperson for the police, Colonel Thembeka Mbele, said that it is alleged that on 15 December 2019, after midnight, a 25-year-old woman was asleep at her place of residence in Cato Crest when the crime happened.

“She had the door closed, but not locked as she was waiting for her niece to come home. She heard footsteps inside the house, but thought it was her niece, then suddenly a medium built, dark-complexioned man was standing next to the bed.”

“The man overpowered, repeatedly raped her and fled the scene. A case of rape was opened at Cato Manor Police Station and the docket was transferred to the Brighton Beach FCS Unit. The police are looking for the person as per the attached identikit who could assist in solving the rape case,” she said.
