Durban Academy embraces the ‘new normal’

Classrooms, the staffroom and offices were cleaned and rearranged according to Covid-19 regulations to ensure social distancing.

THE principal and staff of Durban Academy High School on the Bluff, welcomed its Grade 12 learners this week  after a busy two weeks of getting the school Covid-19 compliant ready.

Classrooms, the staffroom and offices were cleaned and re-arranged according to Covid-19 regulations to ensure social distancing. New procedures have also been developed for daily screening of staff and learners.

Durban Academy High School principal, Riana Theron said that both she and the staff were eager to welcome back their learners and see them settle into their ‘new normal’ after over two months of being away from the classroom.

Durban Academy High School Grade 12 learners have adhered to the Covid-19 social distancing regulations as they get to work in the school hall.

According to the department of Basic Education, information about the return of other grades will be communicated later in the month. The department also plans to gazette a revised school calendar before the end of the month, which will detail updated holidays and dates.
