Majorettes shine at first competition for 2020 season

The next KZNMCA competition will be held on 14 March at Dokkies in Umbilo.

THE first official competition of the KwaZulu-Natal Majorette and Cheerleading Association (KZNMCA) kicked off the 2020 drummies season on Saturday, 29 February at the Harlequins Sports Club.

The event was hosted by Durban Girls’ High majorettes together with Durban Girls Junior Majorettes. Majorettes competed in the Flag Group, Mace Group, Pom/Non-Prop Group, and Baton categories. The much anticipated drill category was not held in this round but will take place in the upcoming competition. Local junior Durban South teams fared pretty well, making it to the top positions places in all four categories. Durban Girls’ High Majorettes were placed first in all four categories.

The next KZNMCA competition will be held on 14 March at Dokkies in Umbilo.
