Clairwood temple damaged in blaze

Firefights were alerted and quickly attended to the scene, where they are currently still working to put out the flames.

THE Clairwood Shree Siva Soobramonior Temple caught ablaze this morning (Wednesday, 29 January) after a neighbouring warehouse went up in flames.

According to one of the community members, Cindy Ally, who lives on Sirdar Road where the temple is situated, the fire started at one of the warehouses next to the temple and spread to the temple, extensively damaging the roof. Firefights were alerted and quickly attended to the scene, where they are currently still working to put out the flames.

Paramedics are also on scene and no serious injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this point.
