Bluff Bowling Club’s husband and wife duo scoop John Dory any pairs title

The fundraiser for the women’s annual tournament is scheduled for Friday night, 25 October

Bluff Bowling Club’s (BBC) Brian and Paula Osman caught the biggest fish when they won this month’s edition of the John Dory any pairs competition.

Dawn and Kurt Spack secured the first session with the second session going the way of Phil Hill and Johan Nel. There were two women competition matches played on Saturday afternoon, 28 September.

Phil Hill and Johan Nel scooped the winnings of the second session of the John Dory any pairs competition.

In the women’s senior singles, Daphne Reinhardt came from behind to pip Lilah Nel 21 shots to 19 while in a women’s point singles match Elize Stapelberg accounted for Glynis Macrory 102-88.

Two men’s nominated pairs matches were also played where Tim Gill and Michael Schudel defeated Jorge Santos and Greg Dorrofield comfortably while Brian Osman and Ian Hayes accounted for Phil Hill and Russell Fuller.

Paula and Brian Osman won this month’s edition of the John Dory any pairs.

Both the joker and the attendance draws were not won on Friday night, 27 September, as Daphne Reinhardt’s number was drawn, but she was not present and forfeited the prize which was up for grabs. The joker draw is now over the R3 000 mark so get down to the club and buy a ticket, you have to be in it to win it.

The sides for the annual Wentworth/ Bluff challenge have been selected and should have been posted on the board by the time you read this. Members are reminded that the men’s teams are playing at home while the women are playing at Wentworth. Both games are scheduled for Sunday morning, 13 October.

The fundraiser for the women’s annual tournament is scheduled for Friday night, 25 October, with entertainment given by the fabulous Gee-Jays so bring along a friend or two and join the club for an evening of song and laughter.

Watch the notice board for upcoming events and postings. As the end of year is getting closer, prize-giving players may have to play on alternative days other than the normal bowling times to complete the competitions for 2019.
