Grays Inn revamp set to ease traffic

The project is estimated to take three months to complete.

MULTIPLE complaints raised by residents on various social media platforms to ward 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo, about traffic congestion on Grays Inn Road successfully resulted in the city’s cooperation.

“My office coordinated with eThekwini Transport Authority to determine what can be done to ease traffic congestion along Grays Inn Road passing the section opposite Virgin Active and the Hope centre. The assessment indicated that the road warranted the installation of multiple taxi and bus lay-by lanes to improve the current traffic congestion problem,” said JP.

He added that the project was approved by council and is being rolled out through the Roads Provision Department. “The department will construct two taxi and bus lay-by lanes along Grays Inn Road.”

The project is estimated to take three months to complete.

“The project will employ local residents and the community liaison officer, assigned to the project will update my office on a weekly basis on the progress of the project. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused during the course of the project and we would appreciate your patience during the construction phase. The project will ultimately improve the Bluff for us all,” said JP.
