The South Durban Community Environmental Alliance (SDCEA) will host a fisherfolk meeting on Saturday, 15 June at 8.30am at the Austerville Civic Center, 6 Percy Johnson Road, Austerville.
This meeting will address issues of facilities in the North and South Pier, Durban Harbour and beachfront, opening of piers on the beachfront, oil and gas developments and the permits situation for the Durban Harbour.
All fisherfolk are urged to attend to discuss the issues and marginalisation of subsistence fisherfolk in Durban, to find solutions and address the next steps towards equality for fisherfolk in South Africa.
