JUST IN: Durban CBD road closed as tree falls onto cars

A large tree has fallen onto the road, striking three cars as it fell.

THE Durban-bound lanes of Margaret Mncadi Avenue (ex-Victoria Embankment) has been closed to traffic this morning (Monday, 4 March), following a multiple vehicle collision just before Russell Street.

A large tree has fallen onto the road, striking three cars as it fell.

Rescue Paramedics’ Garrith Jamieson said four people have sustained moderate injuries and are currently being treated.

The SAPS search and rescue team, Metro Police and fire department officials are on site, working towards clearing the roadway.
