Community members give Bracken Library new look

Community members both young and old showed up in great numbers to show support in cleaning up Bracken Library on March 13.

While having fun in the sun, community members both young and old showed up in great numbers to show support in cleaning up Bracken Library on March 13.

Weeks after community members gathered to clean the premises, a concerned group also joined in to give the library a fresh new look by removing weeds and planting flowers.

The clean-up was made possible by Coffee News, Rawson Properties, Rietvlei Zoo Farm, Keen Gro Nursery, Fox Security, National Paramedics, Hobbi Zone and Emerald Concrete.

Organiser Karin Serfontein told the RECORD that the importance of the clean-up was motivated by a need to keep the community library clean.

ā€œIā€™m a regular at the library and every time I notice learners from neighbouring schools who often wait for their parents and I thought it would be wonderful if learners can relax in a clean environment. I then contacted different community members to assist,ā€ she said.
