Do the drivers of South Africa buy their licences?

Drivers should adhere to road signs.

According to Google, a pedestrian crossing or crosswalk is a place designated for pedestrians to cross a road, street or avenue.

The wording pedestrian crossing is used in some international treaties on road traffic and road signs, such as the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic and the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals.

Yet, as a member of the Alberton community, I can state that this isn’t true.

Outside of Alberton City there is a pedestrian crossing which is used by mothers and children daily. However, drivers seem to get their licence out of a lucky packet. They just don’t obey the rules of the road.

Motorists have an attendance of thinking just that they are in a metal machine they have the right of way.

They will look deep into your soul while they are pushing their way onto the pedestrian crossing.

This becomes a concern when innocent people attempt to do things by the law and end up getting hurt.

I have agyrophobia (a case of specific phobia, the irrational fear that crossing roads will cause bodily harm to oneself, even if no actual threat is posed) and let me just say they don’t make it easy. I once waited eight minutes because the traffic lights were out and they just wouldn’t “allow” way.
