NEW 23 COME and enjoy fun in the sun on the slides and in the foam pond at General Alberts Primary School with their Summer Blast. Fun starts at 10am until 4pm. Entrance is charged at R20 per person. An additional R100 per person will give you access to all slides and foam pond. Food and cold drinks will also be sold. Note that the price excludes the colour fest, rocket and soft ball activities. NEW 23 DRAMA Workshop. Give your children a fun break from studying and let them experience the excitement of theatre. This workshop focuses on improvisation and theatre sports while developing confidence, social skills, concentration, language and communication skills, co-operation, EQ, the ability to think on your feet, physical and spatial awareness. NEW 23 THE Animal Anti-Cruelty League Johannesburg would like to take this opportunity to invite you to partner with them for their Carols in the Barn 2019 initiative. This inaugural event will bring families and the community together to celebrate the start of the festive season while raising valuable funds for the animals under their care and protection. Carols will be sung by a beautiful children’s choir and accompanied by a marimba band from a local school. Music groups and artists will serenade and entertain guests between carols. An artisanal market will allow guests a chance to get in some early shopping, with pony rides and Santa’s arrival entertaining the children while parents relax in the tranquil atmosphere of the Penbritte Equestrian Centre. Picnic baskets will be available to order, along with yummy farm style pizzas from the onsite Saddle and Spur restaurant. Penbritte Equestrian Centre, 5pm to 8.30pm, entrance fee R50 per adult and R20 per child (under 12) and R150 per family (2 adults and 3 children under 12 years).

24 COME for a walk and enjoy nature at Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve guided walk. Meet at 7am for prompt start at 7.30am at the Entrance Precinct, Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park. NEW 30 JOIN Stepping Stone Hospice for a tree lighting ceremony at Reading Country Club. It is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic under starry skies with family and loved ones. It also brings the opportunity to add your remembrance globe in celebration of a loved one at only R100. Celebrations will start at 5.30pm with entertainment and traditional Carols by Candlelight. Stepping Stone Hospice will sell pancakes, boerewors rolls, popcorn and drinks. The actual lighting of the tree will take place at 7.45pm (weather permitting) when hundreds of globes will light up with a soft radiance. The tree will shine throughout December. 7 NICHE Community Market is open every Saturday at the Walkerville Showgrounds from 9am to 2pm. Stall holders sell honey, jams, handmade natural soaps, plants, fresh produce, aloe creams, cookies and biscuits, biltong, koeksisters, fudge and candy floss, as well as a variety of crafted goods. Fresh food vendors include Asian food, boerewors rolls, vetkoek and Indian food. There is a gin bar, craft beer and ciders. There’s a play area for the children and pets are welcome.
