Skhumba Hlophe means ‘bizniss’ at Carnival City

Although Skhumba is sometimes misunderstood, he never allows anyone to keep him down.

OUTRAGEOUSLY funny, authentically local and sometimes a little on the controversial side, Skhumba Hlophe is on a mission to make people all over the country laugh a little… or a lot.

Back with a brand new one-man special, Hlophe ends his 2018 leg of his national tour called #IMeanBizniss on a high note at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on December 14 and 15.

Skhumba has become a household name thanks to his role as Bheki in SABC1’s comedy series Thandeka’s Diary and as host of Good Friday with Skhumba and Ndumiso on Kaya FM.

But it is stand-up comedy that really drives him. Known for his raw, sometimes even crude, jokes about anything and everything from politics to celebrities, nothing is off limits with Skhumba.

Although Skhumba is sometimes misunderstood, he never lets anyone keep him down. He is not easily offended and is a real go-getter who always gets back up when he falls.

The co-host of Change Down on Mzansi Magic, with Boity Thulo, has achieved many a great thing. He says one of his greatest achievements is his annual wheelchair drive, Walk This Way with Skhumba, which has grown in leaps and bounds since 2016. The wheelchairs donated to those in need have been a source of great inspiration among his peers, who come together and help Skhumba achieve his goals every year.

He is the most-nominated comedian for the Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards. This year he has been nominated in four categories.

The one-man special #IMeanBizniss shows he takes his craft seriously, as do the industry and his fans.

Tickets cost between R150 and R385 per person and are available from Computicket and all Shoprite/Checkers outlets. Both shows start at 8pm.
