Off-the-grid weekend awaits you at Magalies Rocks the Cradle festival

Now in its third year, MRtC is fast-becoming a firm favourite on South Africa’s festival calendar and, like last year, is expected to attract thousands of people.

ONE town. Three days. Infinite possibilities. If you’re looking for a semi off-the-grid weekend adventure, the Magalies Rocks the Cradle (MRtC) Weekend Festival offers up 72 hours of relax, explore, experience and unwind. A combination of distinctive offerings set against a magnificent backdrop of mountains, valleys, rivers and indigenous woodland, makes this three-day celebration unmissable.

There’s something for everyone from August 24 to 26. Now in its third year, MRtC is fast-becoming a firm favourite on South Africa’s festival calendar and, like last year, is expected to attract thousands of people for a memorable two-night three-day adventure that’s just an hour’s drive from Johannesburg.

“This festival is unique in that it is not located at a single venue but has been designed to showcase the entire Magalies region as a must-experience tourist venue,” says Hannelie Hartman, chairperson of the Magalies Business Forum.

ART LOVERS: Come and enjoy seeing artists painting.

“It is, quite literally, a community effort. Business owners are either involved by showcasing their offerings at their own venues, or by supporting other events in the town. We have worked hard to put together more than 100 events at 50 venues so our guests can experience the true spirit and hospitality of the area.” So, round up your family, friends or your significant other, pack a bag or a rucksack, strap on your adventure boots and make your way to the Magalies Rocks the Cradle Festival for an extraordinary, authentic experience.
