Your e-learning essay could win you a grand prize

The competition is open to all City of Joburg residents aged between 16 and 35 years old. The competition closes on May 31.

IN this demanding modern world where information has become a valuable commodity and access to information is critical, the City of Joburg has introduced e-learning services.

As part of the drive to promote e-learning, city libraries are running an exciting writing competition. Participants need to write an English essay about how e-learning can change their lives.

In the essay, they should demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of e-learning services at libraries.

The competition is open to all City of Joburg residents aged between 16 and 35 years. The competition closes on May 31.

The City of Johannesburg’s public libraries is a hub of education, giving residents access to books, magazines and audio-visual materials to assist residents in their studies, career, business or personal development.

The City of Johannesburg’s public libraries have the following e-learning services:

• Computers with free internet,

• Free WiFi,

• 12 e-learning classrooms,

• Access to e-resources and e-books, and

• Techno-literacy training.

Prizes up for grabs are:

• First prize – Lenovo tablet plus a R500 bookshop voucher.

• Second prize – is a R500 bookshop voucher.

• Third prize – is a R500 IT shop voucher.
