Grey’s Anatomy celebrates 13 years

Grey’s Anatomy, the famous TV hospital drama series, is celebrating 13 years of being on air this week.

We went down memory lane and chose our 13 most memorable moments from one of the ABC’s most watched TV drama series.

 

  1. Dance it out

Who could forget the Cristina and Meredith dancing it out whenever they had man trouble.

  1. Derek is married

At the end of season one Meredith finds out Derek is in fact married.

  1. Cristina’s miscarriage

Not wanting children and considering abortion, Cristina suffers an from an ectopic pregnancy, resulting in a miscarriage.

 

  1. Cristina’s failed wedding

Season three ended with Burke leaving Cristina at the alter.

  1. Call the bomb squad

After a patient arrives with a paramedic’s hand in his chest, Alex realises that the rocket is still active, enter Kyle Chandler. At the end of the two-part episode officer Chandler goes out with a dramatic explosion.

  1. Goodbye Denny

Denny landed up dying even after his heart transplant, which was performed of Izzie cut his LVAD wire.

  1. The iconic line

Even after finding out Derek is married Meredith asks him to choose her. This line has gone down as one of the most iconic lines from the show.

  1. The crash

Lexie dies, Arizona has her leg amputated, Derek’s hand is damaged and Mark dies after being in a coma. The season eight finale left many in tears.

  1. Say hello to McSteamy

Dr Mark Sloan earned was nicknamed by the women interns “McSteamy” for his good looks.

  1. The house of candles

In the season four finale Meredith outlines their dream house in candles for her and Derek.

  1. Another Grey

Lexie Grey moved to Seattle in hopes of meeting her half-sister, Meredith.

  1. The shooter

The husband of a patient who was taken off life support shoots his way through the hospital resulting in the death of Reed and Charles and wounding Alex, Derek and Owen.

  1. Impaled

A train wreck results in multiple casualties, including two passengers who are impaled together by a pole. The doctors are forced to make a choice as to which patient will live and which will die.
