25: Three-koppie group hike of up to 10km through the Melville Koppies. Sets off 8.30am sharp. Park, meet and pay in the upper car park at Marks Park, Judith Road, Emmarentia. Costs R60 for adults and R40 for children. All donations used to maintain the Koppies. Hikers must be fit, with good balance, as paths are rocky and steep. Children must be over six years old. 27: The Johannesburg Harriers Athletics Club is hosting its Jackie Gibson Marathon at the Klipriviersberg Recreational Centre on April 15 from 6am. Entries close on March 27. 31: Join the Bokkie Park Easter Market on March 31 at the Bokkie Park, Southvale Road, Parkdene, Boksburg, from 9am to 2.30pm. Free Easter egg hunt for the first 100 children. 2: Jump for Jesus on April 2 from 4.30pm at the Cite Equestrian Park in Walkerville. There will be three classes presented by Pastor John Van Breda. Support the first Jump for Jesus and RSPV before February 25 for catering purposes to Terry on 083 760 8897.

The Red Windmill Village Market is held every Saturday and Sunday. Get away from the city and spend some time in the country air at their Victorian Village only 20 minutes from Southgate. There will be fresh produce, various food stalls, a coffee shop, nursery, mushrooms, second-hand bookshop, home industry, arts and crafts, etc. Open from 9am to 3pm at 104 Main Road, Walkerville. Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve Association. For all walks, meet at the entrance precinct, Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park. Sundays:

Mondays:

Tai chi classes for adults are available at Martial Centre in Winchester Hills. Classes are on Monday and Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm and from 6.30am to 7.30am on Saturdays. This is an ideal form of exercise for over-40s. Tai chi is a martial art but is practised at a slower pace. Choir members are urgently needed for a multi-denominational choir called Under His Wings, under the leadership of Claude Weeder. Tuesdays:

Kung fu classes are available at Martial Centre in Winchester Hills. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Anyone aged five years and older is welcome to attend.
