GOLD Reef City invited members of the media and a host of VIP guests to a performance of the hit musical stage production, Rock of Ages on November 18.

This musical features 28 musical hits of the 80’s including the music of Pat Benatar, Styx, Twisted Sister, Poison, Foreigner, Reo Speedwagon and more. Rock Of Ages pays homage to the big rock concerts of the 80s and is not to be missed. It is the multi-Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical written by Chris D’Arienzo.

During the show, guests were taken on a journey back to the 80s where shoulder pads, lycra, lots of stone-washed denim, tight leather pants, bright colours, permed hair and mullets were king. With a good dose of humour and 28 nostalgic rock anthems, the show had the audience singing along and dancing in the aisles. This high energy, feel-good smash hit is on at Gold Reef City until December 10 and is a must see. Warning: This show contains scenes of Rock ’n Roll debauchery – PG is advised.

Rock of Ages performances will run at The Lyric during the following times: Tuesday to Friday at 8pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm and Sunday at 3pm. Ticket prices range between R160 and R300 and are available through www.goldreefcity.co.za, Gold Reef City Box Office and Computicket.
