Kumon South recognises excellence

This year, the Kumon Centre was pleased to have four completers, three of whom were able to attend the function. A completer is a student who has completed either the mathematics or English programme.

KUMON South recently held its bi-annual awards function on Friday, May 5, at the Doxa Deo Church in Meyersdal.

The theme of this year’s function was “Dr. Seuss” and the emphasis was on the importance of reading.

Kumon South was also lucky enough to garner the assistance of Exclusive Books and Mall of the South, who had a stall at the event.

This year, the Kumon centre was pleased to have four ‘completers’, three of whom were able to attend the function.

A completer is a student who has completed either the mathematics or English programme.

Tanesha Carrajola (Grade Eight), Heerani Rama-Panchia (Grade Eight) and Tshegofatso Motsepe (Grade 11) have all completed the Kumon English Programme.

Aashika Reddi (Grade 11) completed the maths programme in only nine years.

“We are extremely proud of our completers. Such an achievement is no easy task, and Tanesha, Heerani, Tshegofatso and Aashika have all shown great commitment, determination and excellent work ethic,” said Jeanetta Taljaard, owner of the Kumon South centres in Mulbarton and Randhart.

Kumon South is proud of all its learners.

The success of the Kumon programme lies in the partnership between the instructor, student and parent. The common goal is to ultimately entrust children with full responsibility for their own learning.
