ESPOIR TV Castings, Modeling and Dance Academy would like to thank all those who supported their academy awards event last month at Gold Reef City’s Theme Park Hotel.

The goal, as promised to the student’s parents when they first joined Espoirs Academy, was and is to continue to build and grow their children’s self-esteem, self-image and self-confidence through the various performance arts offered. Over 100 students from ages three and up boasted their runway modeling, photographic modeling, presenting, ballet, hip hop, contemporary and Latin and ballroom skills to a crowd of over 400 people.

The models all looked like superstars, to say the least, and the dancers had outfits which were put together so well that that their dress rehearsal could be confused with the premiere of a new Step Up movie combined with the series ‘So You Think You Can Dance?’

Awards certificates, medals, trophies and gifts were handed out to the students as acknowledgement and rewards for their performances and progress on becoming professional acts.

Belinda Botha, founder and principal at Espoir, said: “All these fashion shows act as an examination mark for their course in its entirety, which in turn is for a diploma in their chosen field. Considering the fact that we only see these gorgeous children for four Saturdays a month for an hour, it’s safe to say there was a great amount of effort put into the students.”

The Face of Espoir (F.O.E) is a category whereby two winners of the event are crowned and marketed as the leading faces of the company for a whole year. Not only are they the face of the company, butthey are also involved with Espoirs charity events and giving back to the community holistically, throughout the year, whenever they are on school holidays. This year’s F.O.E took an unexpected turn when two senior males had a tie and not two but three F.O.E’S were chosen. Lebohang Msibi, Keenan Abdol and Prince Ngqwangele are 2016 Faces of Espoir.

“This just means that we have an extra pair of hands to do charity work,” noted Nazily Marques, senior manager and qualified modeling teacher at Espoir.
