JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – The Believers Care Society’s (BCS) youth development project aims to equip unemployed and unskilled youth with employable skills and provide the basic life-skills, information and assistance that will enable them to find gainful employment.

The next training programme for the current 2015/16 financial year starts on Monday, October 26. Courses offered include PC engineering, computer system development, contact or call centre support, bookkeeping, office skills, computer skills and A+ IT.

Youth with a passion for any of the above courses are encouraged to register now. To qualify, one must be between 18 and 35 years, a resident of JHB south, have matric or an equivalent. Residents with a Grade 10 certificate are taken on other skills programmes. Applicants must be willing to study and to complete the training and will not be allowed to miss more than three classes. Classes are from Monday to Friday, five hours per day. The duration of classes are three months, six months and 12 months respectively.

All courses are accredited through the relevant sector education and training authority (SETA) and classes are hosted at the Youth Development Centre in Turffontein.

To register, applicants should bring a copy of their ID, proof of residence or an affidavit from the police, previous qualifications and a short CV. No fees are required. Only unemployed and unskilled youth are accepted.
