Traffic! Season II premieres on e.tv

Taking over the slot from the very popular Matatiele, the show promises to keep the drama at an all-time.

Tuesday nights on e.tv are about to get a whole lot more explosive. The South African detective series Traffic! returns to e.tv and eHD channel 104 on OpenView HD for a captivating second season on Tuesday October 6 at 21:05.

Taking over the slot from the very popular Matatiele, the show promises to keep the drama at an all-time.
In this new season detectives Lungi (Bonnie Mbuli) and Songezo (Bongo Mbutuma) are faced with a rampant series of gruesome crimes against young pregnant women. Mutilated bodies of young pregnant woman are being discovered on the beach. The detectives believe these are muti-related murders so they begin their investigation. Their attention shifts when they uncover a drug smuggling ring.

The second season also follows the journey of new love between old characters, new friendships and young siblings growing into self-assured adults. From the new exciting cast, developments within the police force and fierce rivalry, this season is guaranteed to thrill.

In the first season, Lungi and Songezo were romantically drawn to each other. However, the cases may negatively impede their personal relationship. In the midst of all these challenges, Lungi is forced to deal with issues from her past.

“We are excited by the return of Traffic, in true crime drama style the series is even more entertaining and action packed. Local content would not be authentic if it did not deal with deep social issues, we hope that the storyline will enlighten viewers and encourage efforts towards fighting against the criminal underworld,” said Monde Twala, Managing Director for e.tv channels division.

The stellar cast from the first season will be joined by industry veterans such as Thembi Mtshali-Jones and Dr Sindiwe Magona. Dr Sindiwe Magona is a teacher, civil servant, novelist, poet, playwright, women’s activist and now actor. For decades she has been instrumental in socio-cultural transformations, the development of a distinctly South African identity and taking pertinent issues back to the public.
