Riaan and Melissa du Plessis were thrilled to hear that they have been announced as the winners of the 2014 Bride and Groom Competition.

The Bride and Groom finals were held at the elegant La Vie Est Rosé in Brackenhurst, on Saturday afternoon, August 15. This year’s winners went through a round of one-on-one judging and dared to dance the Salsa like no other in the truth and dare section of the judging which secured them first place. The runner up couple, Willem and Johané de Koker, were dared to kiss in an ‘I now pronounce you husband and wife’ manner which had all the finalists clapping.

Not only will the winners of the competition enjoy a five night stay at the Hilton Hotel in Durban, they also get movies for a year at Nu Metro and a voucher from Placecol.

The second prize winners walked away with a voucher from Placecol, which includes a full body massage and facial for both the bride and groom, and frame from Birthdays.

Third prize winners, Kevin and Lee Carolus, have won themselves Paul James packages (shampoo and conditioner, plus a blow wave for the bride and a cut for the groom) and a voucher from Placecol.

The event was well supported by Justine and Neil Diamond, who also brought their 14-year marriage experience to the judging panel. The other judges included Lize-Marie Landsman (the Editor of Get It Joburg South) and her husband Martin. They have been married for five years.

All prizes were sponsored by The Glen Shopping Centre. The venue, food and drinks were sponsored by La Vie Est Rosé situated in Brackenhurst.
