Thanks to Booysens and Moffatview SAPS

The threat is not only from the hijackers.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH- RECENTLY at about 22:45, I was coming from Springs with my family and we drove past the container depot before we exit the N17 at Wemmerpan Road. We spotted a motor vehicle with multiple lights on top of its roof on the upper embarkment of the freeway. It resembled a tow truck and we were asking ourselves questions because it was not the N17 patrol vehicle.

We noticed large ash building blocks strewn in the middle of the two lanes. I slammed on the brakes and activated my emergency lights for other cars that were following me. I went to report the matter to the Booysens Police Station where I was told that part of the road falls under Moffatview. The officer assured me that they will radio Moffatview Police station to alert them.

True to the officer’s promise, when I got home I phoned the Moffatview Police Station where I spoke to officer Zungu who informed me that they had already received a report from the Booysens Police Station and they had already dispatched a marked police BMW to the scene.

I would like to thank the officers at Booysens and Moffatview police stations for their prompt reaction.

Be careful my fellow drivers, the threat is not only from the hijackers but also from some tow truck operators.
