Glenvista listed as cheating hotspot

Extra-marital affairs in the hills of Glenvista have been exposed by the dating website AshleyMadison.com.

According to the list of suburbs with the highest number per capita membership, Glenvista ranked eighth with a staggering 5.9 percentage of people currently engaging in extra-marital affairs.

“We are not surprised some of the wealthiest areas made the list. Simply put, the more successful you are, the likelier you’ll cheat, and Johannesburg is full of successful people looking for something outside their marriage,” said Noel Biderman, founder and CEO of AshleyMadison.com.

“With financial success comes opportunity. Professionals tend to travel more frequently, allowing them to step out on their mates, and Dainfern is full of bored housewives.”

The list of Joburg’s cheating hotspots:

1. Dainfern 10.3%

2. Sandhurst 9.3%

3. Greenside 8.7%

4. Rivonia 7.4%

5. Soweto 7.1%

6. Bedfordview 6.5%

7. Bryanston 6.3%

8. Glenvista 5.9%

9. Northcliff 5.5%

10. Fourways 4.9%

In total the statistics are 20,2 per cent for Johannesburg. “The research in South Africa clearly shows that the perceived conservative markets are not all that conservative,” says Noel Biderman.

This year only some of the wealthiest areas made the list, with the exception of the township of Soweto, which has a number of affluent people still living in the township and travelling abroad on business trips.

According to AshleyMadison.com these statistics simply demonstrate that “the more successful you are, the likelier you’ll cheat,” and Johannesburg is full of successful people looking for something outside their marriage,” added Biderman.

Dainfern is said to have been number one on the list, because the suburb is full of bored housewives.
