Bullied at Checkers Glenvista

GLENVISTA – As a regular elderly customer to the above store, I wish to warn other shoppers of the treatment I received after removing a small shopping cart from the store on the October 23.

I was unaware that these were not to be removed from the store. Something I regularly do and always return to the store. On this particular day I was walking out of the centre when a Checkers Security guard violently grabbed me from behind by pulling on my clothing. I managed to remain on my feet by holding onto the trolley. He then proceeded to grab the trolley and unpack my parcels.

I do not believe that this reaction was necessary and left me quite shaken and disturbed. The Centre Cameras “conveniently” only captured a small end portion of this incident. The response from Checkers management has been less than adequate and in my opinion has not addressed the issue.

Needless to say I will take my business to friendlier stores where customers are treated in a dignified and civil manner.
