Rebuilding Ma-Mkhize’s house on hold

Region 9 Development Centre would like to inform the public that the project to rebuild Ma-Mkhize’s house has been put on hold.

The project was put on hold after we were informed by government that there are certain processes that we need to follow before we can start the actual rebuilding of the house. We are currently working together with the Department of Environmental Health and the Department of Housing to make sure that all necessary processes are followed, to avoid any legal technicalities at the end of the project.

We would like to thank all those who responded to our request for assistance, and we will provide more details on the continuation of the project as soon as the necessary processes are concluded. We would also like to encourage all citizens to make every day a Mandela Day.
