Musical Fountains open for festive celebrations at Pioneer Park

Join Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ) for an unforgettable illuminating evening with your family on the lawns of Pioneer Park. For a selected 14 days, the Musical Fountains at Pioneer Park will be switched on, offering visitors a magical experience of lights and spectacular water features.

The original illuminated Musical Fountains were built in the 1960’s as one of the world’s underwater musical organs and became a popular attraction until they fell into disrepair in the 1980’s. Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, in working towards restoring and bringing the magic back to Wemmer Pan and surrounds worked tirelessly to restore the Musical Fountains for the enjoyment of all residents and visitors to Johannesburg.

The Spectacular Musical Fountains will be illuminated on the following dates:

-20-22 December 2013

-24 and 25 December 2013

-27-29 December 2013

-3-5 January 2014

-10-12 January 2014

Bring along your friends and family for a magical evening of lights and music to usher in the festive season.  Gates open at 3pm so bring along a picnic basket and enjoy the sights and sounds of Pioneer Park.

Musical Fountains will be switched on at 7pm until 8pm and tickets cost R20 for children and pensioners and R30 for adults. Tickets are available at the gate. The Musical Fountains are situated at Pioneer Park, cnr Rosettenville Road and 11th Street, La Rochelle.
