Our Lady of Lebanon learner placed second in National Karate Championships

The competition brought together some of the best karate athletes from across the country.

Our Lady of Lebanon Grade Seven learner Diyaan Nagardas recently placed second in the World Union of Karate Federation (WUKF) National Karate Championships held in Gqeberha.

The competition brought together some of the best karate athletes from across the country.

Diyaan has been training under the guidance of his sensei, Shihan Sandra Louw, and has been consistently improving his skills.

Diyaan, who has been practising karate for two years, showed exceptional skill and determination during the competition especially considering his small stature.

Diyaan said he was thrilled to have been placed second for kumite in his age category.

“It was a tough competition, but I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the dojo, Sandra Louw Karate (SLK).”

According to him, the competition has taught him that it is not the medal that defines him but rather the way and manner he conducts himself.

“Characteristics such as honour, integrity, determination, perseverance, and kindness are more important,” he said.
