The Box Office gym recently hosted its first Giant event of the year at Brixton Multi-purpose Centre.
The gym’s owner, Anton Gilmore, said over 700 people attended the event. They were from various areas, but primarily the South.
“Three Master Box South Africa titles were contested, with the most notable match pitting Johnny Koen against Grant Habib. Johnny defeated Grant, and we had some other champion bouts. The next event planned for the south is a SA title,” said Gilmore.
Box Office is home to the boxing project Fight with Insight, which benefits Rosettenville’s underprivileged children. They practise on Mondays and Wednesdays at 16:00 and there is also a Saturday boot camp at 08:30.
Box Office Gym is open for group classes on Tuesday and Thursday at 06:00, Monday to Thursday from 17:00 to 18:00 and Saturday boot camp from 08:30 to 10:00.
